Melissa Lillian Ferguson Hunt, age 62, passed away Monday September 9, 2024 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green, KY. The Berne, IN. native was the daughter of the late Weldon Ferguson and Jodie Madeline Riddle Lingo.

Melissa was more than a mother to her children; she was their best friend. She was their mentor, their confidant; their shopping partner in crime; she was the person they called when they needed answers and advice.

She was more than a Nana. She poured her life into her grandchildren. She was their protector, provider of affection. She spoiled them, loved them, held them. Whatever they wanted, they always knew, “they can at Nanas”

She was more than a wife. She was a partner, a lover and Chad’s best friend. Chad’s phone contact was listed as “My Man” and She was listed as “My Melissa” on his phone. She was his bride every hour of every day. She was his shelter, his safe place and the only one who really knew him. She made the house a home, and I can assure you, the cleanest home you ever seen.

She was more than a believer. She was passionately committed to Jesus. She prayed for strangers, at a moment’s notice. Her faith was her platform and she shined bright. She loved Victory Hill so much. She loved Victory Hill’s team and how they always took care of her and Chad. She loved them all so deeply and she was deeply loved.

And we will see her again.

Melissa is survived by her husband of 31 years Chadrick Hunt, children, Weldon Huston (Jennifer), Joshua Hunt (Amy), Joella Huston (Amanda), and Ayla Burris (Jacob), stepfather Allen Lingo, brother, Brad Lewis (Wendy), grandchildren, Abby Stone, Jacub Hunt, Allison Hunt, Khloe Hunt, Lilla Burris, Bowen Burris, Loften Huston, and Jax Huston, niece and nephew, Briannah, and Liam Lewis.

Visitation will be Thursday September 12, 2024 from 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Friday September 13, 2024 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Victory Hill Church, with Funeral Service starting at 12:00 PM Friday. Burial will follow in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
