Michael J. Howard, Jr. “Mikie”, age 43, of Leitchfield, passed away Thursday, (September 19, 2024) at U of L Hospital.
He was born on December 21, 1980 in Hardin County, KY, the son of Michael Howard, Sr. and Theresa Higdon Howard.
Mikie loved animals. He enjoyed four-wheel racing, and attending car races and car shows. His favorite car was a mustang. Mikie liked listening to country music and watching westerns on television. He was baptized in 2017 at Mt. Gilead Church.
He is survived by his mother, Theresa Higdon Howard; his father, Michael Howard, Sr.; sister, Shelbi Howard; aunts, Debbie Higdon, Linda Saltsman, Sheila Decker, and Ann Gustin; uncle, Jesse Duane Howard; his special friend, Ray Gaither; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Virginia Meredith; paternal grandfather, Jess Audrey Howard; paternal grandmother, Beatrice Blair Howard; aunts, Sherry Higdon, Ruedell Dilley; and uncles, David and Ralph Armstrong.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, (September 23, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Murrell Meredith will be officiating. Burial will be in the Higdon Family Cemetery in Caneyville.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
