At approximately 8:31pm Tuesday night the Barren County Sheriffs Office responded to 943 Beaver Creek Boat Ramp Road in reference to a domestic where a male subject was shooting at his adult son. After arriving, deputies made contact with the son and the father .
The father, 56 year old Cary Lemons, stated that he and his son had gotten into a altercation that had turned physical. He stated that during the physical altercation his son choked him so he grabbed a .22 caliber pistol and fired two shots over his son. He said his son then fled down a hallway and he fired more rounds until his .22 jammed, and then he picked up a 9mm handgun, and fired one more round into the wall where his son had fled.
Lemons son stated that he was acting in self defense during the physical altercation and stated that once he got to the bedroom, he went out a window and fled until he saw deputies arrive on scene.
Cary Lemons was charged with (Attempted) Murder- Domestic Violence and Wanton Endangerment 1st degree.
