On Monday, Detective Brandon Fletcher arrived at Shelley Auto Sales to investigate an auto theft. An employee said that a man had test driven a car. After dropping the employee in the parking lot, he fled. The man, identified as 24 year old Sonino “Sunny” Jeffries by witnesses.
Det. Fletcher had Deputy Crumbaugh visited Jeffries mother’s house in Park City on Tuesday and the vehicle was in the driveway. A registration plate stolen from Forbis Automotive had been put on the car. Jeffries had also attempted to spray paint the car to try and disguise it, but, according to the citation, he had not been able to finish.
Jeffries was arrested and charged with Theft By Unlawful Taking, Theft of Motor Vehicle Registration Plate and Criminal Mischief 1st Degree.
Courtney Wills, who was found asleep in the back seat of the car was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property.
Both were lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
