A benefit for Jackie Fletcher will be this Saturday, May 13 at the Temple Hill School beginning at 3pm. Music will be provided by Joyful Road and The Boyd’s Creek Symphony and there will be an auction and BBQ. Proceeds will go toward medical expenses. For more information call Brad Greer at 646-6759.
Adult coloring will be held this Thursday, May 11 the Mary Wood Weldon Memorial Library at 10am and5:30pm. Coloring is a great way to de-stress. Supplies and refreshments are provided.
Book Sprouts Story Time will meet this Tuesday, May 16 at the Mary Wood Weldon Library at 10AM. This time introduces preschoolers to a new Alpha buddy each week. Children will get to know each letter from A to Z and then from Z to A. For preschool aged children.
Mary Wood Weldon Library will have Tator Tot Time next Wednesday, May 17 beginning at 10AM. Toddlers will interact with other their age through books, songs, finger plays, games and play. This is for children ages 18 to 36 months.
The Barren County Historical Society will meet on Thursday, May 25 at the Mary Wood Weldon Memorial Library at 6pm. Beth Hester and her husband Scott Gilbert will present “Kentucky Basket Making Traditions-A Sharing of stories and baskets from the white oak basket makers of South Central Kentucky”. Horse Cave Arts and Sciences Camp will be held from June 5 through June 8 and June 12 through June 15 from 8am to 12noon for ages 5 to 12. Activities include, Art, Crafts, Singing, Drama, Rocketry and Caving. Classes will meet at historic Thomas House in downtown Horse Cave. The Community Action Garden Program is designed to encourage economic self-support by providing low-income households with the essential materials to start growing a vegetable garden. Eligible program participants receive a voucher from Community Action of Southern Kentucky and the voucher can be used to purchase garden products, such as garden seed, garden plants and fertilizer. T-Shirts for adult and children are being sold to help offset expenses for Olivia, daughter of Sondra LaVergne of Glasgow. Olivia has been battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia since November 2015.
