Alice Hensley Perkins, 100, formerly of Stephensburg, Ky., died Saturday,  at Kensington Nursing Home in Elizabethtown with her daughter, Myra; grandaughter, Lanissa and great-grandson, Tyler, at her bedside. She was a Hart County native, housewife and a member of Stephensburg Methodist Church. Mrs. Perkins loved and cherished her family, a kind and devoted wife and mother, and was remembered for starting several women's organizations as a minister's wife. She is also remembered for her delicious cooking, hospitality and most of all her daily Christian example. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah L. Hensley and Hattye Conyers Hensley; her husband, Rev. F.J. Perkins; a son, Bobby Perkins; a daughter, Martha Perkins; a grandson, Timmy Perkins; 6 sisters and 2 brothers. Survivors include a son: Dalton Perkins and wife Margaret, of Charlestown, Indiana. A daughter: Myra Powell and husband, Hayward, of Elizabethtown.A daughter-In-Law: Patsy Perkins. A brother, Everett Hensley. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her caregiver: Ida Stroop. Funeral services for Alice Hensley Perkins  will be at Winn Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday at 2:30 PM  with burial to follow in Cosby Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Winn Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday from 2PM - 9PM and after 9AM Thursday.
