Bernice Melinda Kessler, 74, of Scottsville, KY died at 12:25 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2011 at the Hospice Center of Southern Kentucky.  The Indianapolis, IN native was a homemaker and former employee of Kentucky Apparel.  She was a daughter of the late Veachel Wilson Johnston and Bernice Clay Higginbotham Johnston, who survives.

She is survived by 2 sons:  Ronald Brown and wife, Gladys, Avon, IN and William Kessler, Cherokee, GA; 2 daughters:  Joyce Perry, Bowling Green, KY and Diana Kessler, Park City, KY; Her mother:  Bernice Johnston, Indianapolis, IN; 1 brother:  Raymond Johnston, Indianapolis, IN; 3 sisters:  Nancy Myers, Scottsville, KY; Bertha Schrader and husband, Jack, and Catherine Hummerding and husband, Eric, all of Indianapolis, IN; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 1 son:  Terry Kessler.

Funeral services for Bernice Melinda Kessler will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Freddie Graves officiating and burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens.   Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. until funeral time Sunday at Goad Funeral Home.
