September 1, 1991 – Local Anniversary Celebrations include the 50th anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Hervy Scott on September 9th and the 53rd anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Roddy on September 3rd.

September 3, 1991 – Don Baker is named General Manager of the Ernest Simpson Construction Company, HVAC Division.

September 5, 1991 – Officers of the Park City Women’s Club are President, Judy Scott, 1st VP, Debby Doty, 2nd VP, Vicky Sanders, Sec-Treas., Pam Hogan and Corresponding Sec. Sharon Haines.

September 8, 1991 – The students and faculty of E B Terry School celebrated the school’s 35th birthday. Verna Vance was also honored as the only employee who has been at the school since it opened.

September 9, 1991 – Glasgow Physician Dr. Garland Garst, died September 8 at T J Samson Community Hospital.

September 12, 1991 – Dr. Rubye Beal is the new director at WKU’s Glasgow Campus.

September 15, 1991 – Site work has begun for the new $5 million Metcalfe County High School off Kentucky 861 near the present site location.

September 19, 1991 – The 1991 Tax Rate was set by members of the Barren County Board of Education Wednesday at 34.5 cents per $100 of assessed value for all taxes.

September 22, 1991 – Major William R. (Billy) Wilson retires from the Glasgow Fire Department after 34 years of service.

September 23, 1991 – Glasgow High School Football Homecoming candidates are Shana Stokes, Emily Witcher, Jaime Long, Kim Twyman, Sherri Spencer, Lori Eaton, Jamye Furlong, Taylor Bale, Susannah Kilbourne, Meg Benningfield, Julie Whiteside and Misty Cary. (The winner was Julie Whiteside).

September 25, 1991 – Freddie Button took the $300 first prize Saturday in the minature golf tournament at the “Putt-Em-In” course on Ensminger Drive. Jeff Lile was the second place winner and Mark Dickson was the third place winner.

September 26, 1991 – Caverna High School Football Homecoming candidates are Tina Craine, Tiffany Self, Stephanie McCracken, Angela Stockton, Shana Martin, Sara Reed, Beth Wise, Renee Minor, Amber Clark, Gina Perkins, Stacy Bybee, Erica Minor, Amy Brown, Waynetta Gentry and Laia Verge. (Erica Minor was crowned Queen).

September 27, 1991 – Noted Glasgow Musician Billy Vaughn dies at age 72 in California September 26. Also, the founder of Goodman Candy Co, Henry Goodman, died on September 26th as well at the age of 79.

September 28, 1991 – Dr. Steven Welborn and Dr. Jim Thurman announce the merging of their dental practices.
