Mercedes WilsonAn 18-year-old Glasgow woman was arrested at Food Lion in Glasgow last (Monday) night just before 7 o’clock on two charges of forgery 2nd degree and two charges of criminal possession of a forged instrument 2nd degree.

Mercedes D. Wilson was arrested after Officer McGuire of the Glasgow Police Department responded to Food Lion to a subject with a possible forged check. The officer made contact with Wilson at the cash register.

Wilson had a check belonging to Joe Moore. Officer McGuire contacted Joe Moore, who stated he had not given Wilson any checks and no permission to use his checks. Wilson then stated she had stolen the checks from Mr. Moore and signed his name in order to receive money for personal reasons. Wilson stated she had stolen and signed checks from Mark Jessie as well. Wilson stated she had another check in her vehicle from Joe Moore that she had already signed. Another signed check was found in her glove compartment after obtaining permission to search the vehicle. Wilson was lodged in the Barren County Correctional Center.
