James Wallace (J.W.) Butler, 74, of 706 N. Magnolia Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Monday, March 12th, at Monroe County Medical Center. James was born in Burkesville, KY on October 8, 1937, a son of the late Frankie Mae (Carter) and Paul Butler. On 10/29/1955 in Tompkinsville, KY. he married Dortha (Graves) Butler who survives him. They ere married by Bro. Phemister. He was a farmer and a member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church.

James is survived by two sons, Dale Butler of Glasgow, Ky. and Steve Butler, of Burkesville, KY; three sisters, Virginia Graves of Burkesville, Ky. , Sue Carter of Tompkinsville, KY., Patsy Butler of Glasgow, KY.; one brother, Bobby Joe Butler of Burkesville; four grandchildren, Rachel, Jessica, Sarah and Jamie and two great-grandchildren, Heather and Brianna.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frankie and Dortha Butler.

Funeral Services will be at Yokley Trible Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 14th with Jody McIntyre officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday 6:00-9:00 P.M. and Wednesday 6:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. at the Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. Burial in the Mudd Camp Cemtery.
