A Glasgow woman was arrested Thursday afternoon on charges of Attempting to Obtain a Controlled Substance by Fraud/False Statement/Forgery and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument.

Leslie Bartley, 41, of Glasgow, was arrested after the Glasgow Police Department had received a complaint from Park Avenue Pharmacy in reference to a woman attempting to pass a forged prescription.

When Officer Kirkpatrick of the Glasgow Police Department arrived at the scene, the pharmacist advised that the word “Lorcet” was spelled wrong on the prescription and there were 2 different medications on the prescription, each with a different handwriting style.

The pharmacist also stated that the prescription states on the bottom to void if more than one prescription is written on the paper. In addition, the doctor’s office denied writing the second medication. Bartley was lodged in the Barren County Correctional Center.
