Joe Wheeler Spear, 64, of 394 Caney Fork Road, Glasgow, KY., passed away Thursday, April 26th, while in the company of family members, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital, in Glasgow, KY.

Joe was born in Tompkinsville, KY. on May 20, 1947, a son of the late Nelline (Frost) Spear and J.E. Spear.On July 24, 1965 at Bethany Baptist Church he married Eva (Strode) Spear who survives him. He was a member and a Deacon of Caney Fork Baptist Church in Etoile, KY.

Joe is survived by his two daughters, Kerri Lee (Kevin) , and Melissa Spear, both of Glasgow; one grandson, Aaron Lee, and two honorary grandchildren, Ian and Alexa McCay.

Joe is also survived by three sisters, Peggy Cherry of Tompkinsville, Anita Brown (Larry) of Campbellsville, and Charlene Thompson (Albert) of Tompkinsville; five brothers, J.E. Spear Jr. (Glaydelle) of Tompkinsville, Bobby Spear (Donnie) of Hermitage Springs, TN., Steve Spear (Marcia) of Lebanon, Tn., Tony Spear (Karen) of Lebanon, Tn., and Chris Spear (Tammy) of Tompkinsville, KY.

Besides his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Jo Spear.

Funeral services for Joe Wheeler Spear will be held at 2pm Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Caney Fork Baptist Church in Etoile with burial in the Caney Fork Cemetery. Visitation begins Friday at 1pm at the Yokley-Trible Funeral Home.
