Joe Reed Downing age 74 of Bowling Green, formerly of Gamaliel, died Thursday, April 26, 2012 at his home. He is survived by one son Jack Reed Downing of Alvaton; two daughters Dr. Lisa Murley of Bowling Green and Lori Murphy of Gamaliel; one sister Sara Celsor of Fountain Run; his former wife and mother of his children: Judy Jackson of Gamaliel and former wife: Arlene Cloyd Downing of Tompkinsville;   Five grandchildren and one great-grandchild also surviving.

Funeral services for Joe Reed Downing will be held at 3pm Sunday at the Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel with burial in the Neal Cemetery.  Visitation from 3 to 9pm Saturday and after 7:30am Sunday.  Memorials are suggested to the Neal Cemetery.
