In Barren Circuit Court last week 3 persons entered guilty pleas

HOWARD JASON HODGES 32 of Munfordville, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, April 23, 2012 to the charges of POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A CONVICTED FELON, POSSESSION OF A DEFACED FIREARM, and CARRYING A CONCEALED DEADLY WEAPON.  The Commonwealth recommended a one (1) year sentence.  At the defendant’s request, the Court went forward with sentencing at that time and sentenced the defendant to one (1) year incarceration.

MERCEDES D. WILSON 29 of Glasgow, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, April 23, 2012 to the charges of CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A FORGED INSTRUMENT – 2ND DEGREE – 13 COUNTS and THEFT BY DECEPTION UNDER $500 – 8 COUNTS.  The Commonwealth recommended a three (3) year sentence and full payment of restitution.  Formal sentencing by the Court is set for June 11, 2012.

MARNIE HEATHER COATES YOUNG 41 of Knob Lick, pled guilty in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, April 23, 2012 to the charges of   CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A FORGED INSTRUMENT – 3rd DEGREE – 12 COUNTS and THEFT BY DECEPTION UNDER $500.  The Commonwealth recommended a twelve (12) month sentence and full payment of restitution.  The Court went forward with formal sentencing at that time and sentenced the defendant to twelve (12) months and then granted the request for probation.

4 persons received final sentencings:

MELISSA ANN FRALEY 41 of Indiana, was sentenced in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, April 23, 2012, based on the earlier guilty plea to the charges of FACILITATION TO MANUFACTURE METHAMPHETAMINE, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE – 1ST DEGREE (METHAMPHETAMINE) – 2 COUNTS, and POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – 2 COUNTS.  The Court, following the plea agreement, sentenced the defendant to three (3) years and then granted the request for probation.

MARCI F. HUBBARD 26 of Glasgow, was sentenced in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, April 23, 2012, based on the earlier guilty plea to the charges of WELFARE FRAUD – 2 COUNTS.  The Court, following the plea agreement, sentenced the defendant to one (1) year and then granted the request for probation on the condition that the defendant makes full restitution.

JESSIE D. SHIPLEY 20 of Glasgow, was sentenced in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, April 23, 2012, based on the earlier guilty plea to the charges of BURGLARY – 3RD DEGREE and THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING, $500 OR MORE BUT LESS THAN $10,000.  The Court, following the plea agreement, placed the defendant on a period of pre-trial diversion on the condition he pay full restitution.

WILLIAM JESSIE WADDELL 64 of Glasgow, was sentenced in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, April 23, 2012, based on the earlier guilty plea to the charges of OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL – 4TH OFFENSE and CARELESS DRIVING.  The Court, following the plea agreement, sentenced the defendant to two (2) years.
