Former Barren County Deputy Sheriff Adam Minor appeared in federal court yesterday  for a scheduled plea hearing.  Minor had been charged with two crimes.  1)  Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law, and  2)  making false statements to the FBI.  In a court document obtained by WCLU it appears Minor pled guilty to one of those charges, the charge of making false statements to the FBI. There is however, reference to another item from Tuesday's proceedings labeled as a sealed supplemental plea agreement.  Being sealed, contents of that document are not available.  But the 5 page court document does outline conditions at sentencing which would effectively dismiss the Deprivation of Rights charge.  Specifically the document says :

“that if the defendant has fulfilled all of his obligations under this plea agreement, the United

States shall move the court to dismiss the charge against the defendant contained in  Count 1 of the

superseding indictment.” Count 1 is the Deprivation of Rights charge.

Such a dismissal as well as the amount of prison time for Minor will be dealt with at the final sentencing.  The plea agreement sets the possible sentence for 0 to 6 months in jail.  Sentencing is set for July.
