Rev. James Lewis Wells 83 of Glasgow, left for his heavenly home Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital surrounded by his family.  He was born March 5, 1929 to the late Don Harm and Pearl Alice Humphrey Wells.  He was a member of Rolling Hills United Baptist Church.

Mr. Wells was a Baptist Minister, preaching in several churches throughout Kentucky.  He had a talent for carpentry work and built several new homes in Barren and surrounding counties.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marie Rhoton Wells; 1 son Gary (Debbie) Wells; 1 daughter Kathy Gibson; 1 brother Ray (Clarene) Wells all of Glasgow; 1 sister Clyde Marine Petry of Indiana; 3 grandchildren Jamey (Amber) Wells, Jennifer (Brandon) Kelly and Jonathan (Kathi) Gibson; 3 great-grandchildren Jaydon, Corbin, and Cash Wells and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Henry, Stanley and Howard Wells; 2 sisters Pansy Aline King and Thelma Hawkins and a son-in-law Tony Gibson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Rolling Hills United Baptist Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon Thursday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.  Visitation on Friday will be at Rolling Hills United Baptist Church from 10am until time for the service.
