Local officials unearth a meth lab in Cave City after a complaint of drug activity.

Just after 3 o’clock Thursday afternoon, Sgt. Jeff Wright and Officer Chris Edwards from the Cave City Police Department responded to a complaint of drug activity on Bale Avenue.

Sgt. Wright and Officer Edwards obtained consent to search the property, where they subsequently discovered numerous items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine as well as a pistol and methamphetamine in an outbuilding in the back yard of the property. Barren County Sheriff’s Deputies Robert Smith and Shannon White, along with a detective from the Barren/Edmonson Drug Task Force, responded to the scene to assist in the search and clean up.

The methamphetamine and items used to manufacture it were seized as evidence. The Drug Task Force is carrying the investigation which remains under investigation and will be presented to the Barren County Grand Jury at a later date. No arrests have been made at this time.
