The new football coach at Arkansas is

facing his first test of discipline since being hired to replace

Bobby Petrino (peh-TREE'-noh) last month.

John L. Smith has suspended wide receivers Marquel Wade and

Maudrecus Humphrey along with tight end Andrew Peterson after their

arrests Saturday. The three are accused of burglarizing dorm rooms.

University of Arkansas police took them into custody after

looking at security video in which the players allegedly walked

into rooms where items had been taken. The preliminary police

report valued the stolen property at nearly $5,000.
