A Cave City man was sentenced last Monday (May 7th) based on his guilty pleas in three separate drug-related cases.

31-year-old Bobby Wayne Johnson, of Cave City, pled guilty in three separate cases to multiple drug charges, including manufacturing methamphetamine and the possession of anhydrous ammonia in an unapproved container with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine.

Johnson’s first set of charges arose when officer of the Barren-Edmonson Drug Task Force received information about Johnson acting in concert with others at a home on Lohden Road in order to produce methamphetamine.

The second case involved charges that stemmed from an investigation by members of the Barren-Edmonson Drug Task Force into activities of Johnson at the home of another person in Cave City between June 22-24, 2010, which led to the discovery of items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Finally, Johnson pled guilty to charges that arose when Deputy Mike Houchens with the Barren County Sheriff’s Office located a methamphetamine lab in front of Johnson’s home on Lillian Lane in Cave City, and subsequently discovered that Johnson had been making methamphetamine in the empty apartment next to his own apartment.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Karen M. Davis, recommended a total ten year sentence, and the court agreed with the Commonwealth, sentencing Johnson to ten years’ incarceration.
