James William Piercy, age 83, of Edmonton, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012 at his home. He is survived by his wife: Shirley Short Piercy of Edmonton, two sons: Danny and wife Donna Piercy and Ronald Piercy all of Edmonton, two step sons and : David and Willis and wife Lisa Short all of Tompkinsville, two daughters: Teresa and husband James Stanley of Cookeville, TN, Sandra and husband Richard Burnett of Ashboro, NC, three step daughters: Karen and husband Benny Bartley, Kathy and husband Terry York and Beth Turner and companion Junior Frazier all of Tompkinsville, one brother: David Piercy of Edmonton, two sisters: Geneva Hurt and Nora “Mag” Vanduyne both of Edmonton, 9 grandchildren, 12 step grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 14 step great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and 8 step great-great grandchildren, Special friends Dennis & Dana Chaddic of Edmonton In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife: Beverly Piercy, two daughters: Vicki Rousey and Melinda Ruth Piercy, one brother: Junior Ray Piercy, three great grandsons: Zachariah David Piercy, twins Justin Alan Moon and Ryan Page Moon and granddaughter: Angela Kay Weaver. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 23 at 11:00 AM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Mann Cemetery in Metcalfe County. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday and after 7:30 AM on Wednesday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville. Memorials are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery or the Mann Cemetery.

He was born March 18, 1929 in Edmonton, KY to the late Paul Piercy and Lizzie Jewell Gibson Piercy. He was retired from General Motors and a member of Pleasant Hill Church of Christ. He was married to Shirley Bybee Short Piercy.
