Corbin Lewis 89 of Glasgow died Monday, May 21, 2012 at his home.  He was born in Hazard, KY the son of the late Mack and Martha Coots Lewis.  His wife was the late Nadine Day Lewis.  Corbin was a farmer, a carpenter and was an employee of Sorensen Industries for 15 years.  He served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he was a prisoner of war.  Locally he was a member of D.A.V. Chapter 20 and was a very active member of their honor guard.  He was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church for 46 years and also served as a Deacon.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Barbara Matthews (David), Janet Sadler and Pam Waters all of Glasgow; 7 grandchildren Bobbie Joe Elmore Dubree, William Elmore (Tabitha), Scott Sadler, Tony Sadler, Shane Lewis (Sunda), Sarah Lewis, and Ashley Waters (Fiancé` Tim Starr); 11 great-grandchildren Natalie Simpson (Brent), Cierra Dubree, Cody Dubree (Brandy), Will, Abby and Katie Elmore, Jasmine, Jordan and Tyler Sadler, Jennifer Gaunce and Haley Lewis; 2 great-great grandchildren Allie Grace and Braxton Simpson; 2 sisters Pearl King and Stella Osborne of Muncie, IN and a sister-in-law Lois Mullins (James) of Glasgow.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by  son Ralph Lewis and 9 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
