On Monday  at 2:27  pm  State Police  responded to the 8 mile marker on the Louie B. Nunn Parkway in Barren County in reference to a vehicle fire.

According to the  preliminary investigation, a 2005 Chrysler Town and County minivan was reported to be on fire at the 8 mile marker west bound on the Louie B. Nunn Parkway. Once the fire department arrived a male victim was located in the van deceased. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Barren County Coroners office.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by Kentucky State Police Arson Investigator and the Kentucky Fire Marshall's Office.The name of the victim located in the vehicle is being withheld until next of kin can be notified.

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Detective Chad Winn.
