Wednesday of this week the Glasgow Fire Department handed out a long overdue Medal to a former firefighter for an act of heroism. The Medal of Honor was presented to former Firefighter Alan Burd. Burd was instrumental in the rescue of two young children from the roof of a house on fire in 1994. The Glasgow Fire Chief Tony Atwood said the Fire Department would like to take this opportunity to thank Alan for his unselfish act.
