More talk over the weekend about Senator David Williams possibly being appointed to a judgeship.  Governor Steve Beshear says a judicial nominating commission has been named in Senate President David Williams' region. The Governor says if Williams' name is on the list of 3 names he receives from that panel, he will consider appointing his political rival to a vacant 2-year position on the bench.

Williams' office has issued a statement saying if offered a judgeship, he'd have to consider it. It was the first indication he'd be open to becoming a judge, which would require him to resign as the Republican leader of the Senate. Williams has been openly critical of the Governor in the past, for elevating other Republican lawmakers to the bench, cutting down on his party's Senate majority.
