Lane Goodwin 13, of 110 Brown Eubanks Road; Calhoun, Kentucky died Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at his home. Lane William Goodwin was born May 2, 1999 in Henderson, Kentucky to George Merrill and Angela Lee Watkins Goodwin. He was a student at McLean County Middle School and a member of the Calhoun Baptist Church. Lane had a beautiful smile, was full of energy, loved sharks, fishing, adventures, and spending time with both his family and friends, especially his brother, Landen. Lane has united many from across the World through "Thumbs Up for Lane" bringing awareness to and finding a cure for childhood cancer. Lane was preceded in death by great grandparents, Claude Watkins, and Frances and Haldon Goodwin.

Survivors include his parents, George and Angie Goodwin; a brother, Landen Goodwin; grandparents, Rhonda and Rick Gish of Beech Grove and Olivia and Bill Goodwin of Bowling Green; great grandparents, Jeep and Kathleen Ward of Beech Grove and Catherine Watkins of Robards; a great great grandmother, Helen Ward of Beech Grove; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Monday at the Calhoun Baptist Church with  burial in the Bethel Baptist Cemetery.  Dr. Richard Sams officiating. Friends may visit with Lane's Family from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday and from 11:30 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. Monday at the Calhoun Baptist Church. A special prayer service for Lane and his family will be held at 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the church. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the funeral arrangements for Lane's Family.

In lieu of flowers, the Lane Goodwin Family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Thumbs Up for Lane, Childhood Cancer Foundation; C/O Independence Bank; P.O. Box 39; Livermore, Kentucky 42352. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at the Calhoun Baptist Church and at Musters in Calhoun.
