Last Night, the Glasgow Board of Education met in regular session at Glasgow Middle School at 6 pm. Many important topics were covered such as the Glasgow High School project, the Celtic Academy’s Progress, the Unbridled Learning Results, and much more. Some topics that had extra emphasis last night however, were the Schools Nutrition guidelines, and the early graduation application and verification form.

 

At the beginning of this school year, as most know, a state-wide program was put into action regarding school lunches. The changes came out of Barama’s Healthy, Hunger-free Kids act of 2010. Ms. Ann Howell expands…

There is now a maximum calorie intake that students may have, depending on their age group. Which leaves many, if not most kids, coming home still hungry.

 

The topic of early graduation went smoothly, for all agreed to accept the Early Graduation Application and Verification Form.

 

After the meeting, everyone thanked Wade Stone for being there. Wade is the newly elected member of the council, taking LaDonna Rogers place, for her 12 years of service has come to an end.
