ARREST MADE IN BREAK-IN AT GUNTOWN MOUNTAIN AND OTHER CAVE CITY BUSINESSES PDF Print

Cave City Police Captain Danny Coomer along with other members of the Cave City Police department received a call to respond to the Guntown Mountain area in reference to a break in.  Officers arrived on the scene to find a window broken out and a door open.  An ID medical card was found at the scene with the name "Carl P. Gifford" on it.  After an investigation police located Carl Gifford at the Star Motel on south Dixie.  Gifford was questioned about the break-in and admitted to it.  He also admitted to several other break-ins throughout the city over the past few months.  Other businesses include Jr. Poynter distributors and the T&N Laundromat on South Dixie Highway.  Gifford was accompanied by two other juveniles.  The 23 year old Gifford was lodged in the Barren County Jail on charges of Burglar 3rd degree, theft by unlawful taking from an auto under $500.00 and Criminal mischief under $500.00. The investigation in continuing and more arrests are expected.
