A chilling look into the death of Marion County Deputy Anthony Rakes today,

We're able to hear the call for help that  Rakes made after being shot in the line of duty last week. You can hear Rakes calling in what seemed to be a typical stop, checking on a stopped vehicle near Lebanon around 2 o'clock Wednesday morning. Soon after Rakes radios for help saying, "I've been shot...I need an ambulance."

One of the first responders on the scene makes a frantic call for an ambulance saying that Rakes "is just laying here in front of his cruiser." The 31-year old Rakes was shot twice and died in surgery at Springview Hospital.

49-year old Dewayne Shipp is charged with the deputy's murder. He was released Monday from University Hospital in Louisville after being treated for a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the leg. He's at the Kentucky State Reformatory in La Grange.
