Friday, 30 November 2012 15:22

Glasgow Police Dispatch received a call at 11:14 this morning, Friday, November 30, in reference to a bomb threat at TJ Samson Hospital.

Chief Guy Turcotte, Commanding Officer at the scene and Police Units responded immediately along with our agency Detectives and the Fire Department. Police units searched areas inside the building while members of the Fire Department searched the outside perimeter grounds.

Standard Emergency Protocol was followed at the scene which led to the evacuation of a portion of the building and a search for anything unusual or suspicious. As the time passed that the bomb was supposed to detonate, an additional 15 minutes was let pass before allowing those evacuated to return inside.

The Glasgow Police Mobile Crime Scene Unit was dispatched to the scene which aided in the gathering of evidence and further investigation.

There is no answer at this point as to whether this incident is connected in any way to bomb threats that have been received at entities in Bowling Green the past 2 days. This will of course be addressed in the on-going investigation.
