Linda Leigh Wilkerson, 71 of Alvaton passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Hospice House in Bowling Green.

She pursued a degree in Education at Western Kentucky and the University of Louisville. She shared her love of learning by teaching at several local schools for 30 years. She has a gift for knitting and crocheting which she shared with the Hillvue Prayer Shawl Group. She was a loyal contributor to the Bob Kirby Library Brand Mitten Tree and was a volunteer at the Hospice House in Bowling Green. She was a member of the Cub Run Missionary Baptist Church since 1953.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years: Laymon; one son: Gerard Wilkerson and wife Terry of Alvaton; two daughters: Demetra Grubbs-Clark and husband Mark of Horse Cave and Talara Dennison and husband Michael of Munfordville; three brothers: Ralph Armond Thompson of Priceville, Doug Thompson of Gendale and Kelly Thompson of Jeffersonville, Indiana; four sisters: Brenda Martin of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Martha Smith of Mammoth Cave, Vanessa Thompson of Cub Run and Patricia Cowan of Cub Run; seven grandchildren: Macy Grubbs of Glasgow, Kayla Roundtree of Canmer, Mallory and Logan Dennison of Munfordville, Maelynn Grubbs of Horse Cave and Gabrielle and Maya Wilkerson of Alvaton; four great-grandchildren: Kamden, Konner and Oakleigh Grubbs and Braxton Underwood.

Funeral services for Linda Leigh Wilkerson will be at 3PM Sunday in the chapel of the Sego Funeral Home with burial in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3PM to 8PM tomorrow and after 9AM Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice House of Bowling Green or the American Cancer Society.

 

Today is Betty Driver Day!!  She had a birthday on Tuesday.
