On Monday, December 31st, at 4:32 pm, Glasgow Police were dispatched to Wal Mart in reference to a shoplifter. While en route, dispatch advised that 23-year-old Steven Hammock of Scottsville had fled on foot. Police then made contact with Hammock on Max Wagner Drive. While being patted down, Hammock was in possession of 6 white oval pills labeled Watson 38’s. Wal Mart loss prevention officers followed Hammock, and witnessed him place stolen merchandise in brush behind dollar tree. Captain Lindsey then located stolen merchandise while speaking with loss prevention officer. They advised, which was confirmed on video surveillance that Hammock pushed employee down out of the way to get passed. Hammock was charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking, Possession of a controlled substance 2nd degree 1st offense, assault 4th degree, and tampering with physical evidence. Hammock was arrested and taken to the Barren County Correctional Facility.
