Ray G. Williams, 81, of Scottsville, KY died at 8:20 a.m. Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green.  The Scottsville, KY native was a farmer, former chairman and 24 year member of the Allen County Board of Education, member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, Halfway Lodge #852 F & AM and Halfrey Dalton VFW Post 5712, a Kentucky Colonel and U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.  He was a son of the late Clay Williams and Nancy Queen Tabor Williams.

He is survived by his wife:  Alene Williams, Scottsville, KY;

1 son:  Clay Vincent Williams and wife, Kathy, Scottsville, KY;

1 daughter:  Ozelle Hackett and husband, LTC Jeff, Westfield, IN;

2 sisters:   Bernadine Morehead, Bowling Green, KY and Nancy Howell, Atlanta, GA;

3 grandchildren:  Jessica Williams, Jackson Ray Hackett and Graham Hackett;

Several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers:  Ben Williams and Hollis Williams and 1 sister:  Ozelle Williams.


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Johns officiating and burial in Liberty Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Heart Association or Liberty Cemetery Fund.   Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
