ARREST MADE IN METCALFE COUNTY SCHOOLS BOMB THREAT PDF Print

Today, January 17, 2013, at approximately 7:30 a.m., two female juveniles, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old, were arrested by the Edmonton Police Department and Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Department following a bomb threat made against all Metcalfe County Schools on Wednesday, January 16. The quick arrests are credited to the hard work of the school administration, Edmonton Police Department, Metcalfe County Sheriff’s office, Kentucky State Police, Court Designated Worker, Office of Emergency Management and Metcalfe County Attorney’s office.

Following the bomb threat on Wednesday, Kentucky State Police and school administration searched all Metcalfe County school buildings in Edmonton, while North Metcalfe Volunteer Fire Department and Summer Shade Volunteer Fire Department search their respective schools with the assistance of school administration. The all-clear was given for all Metcalfe County school facilities on Wednesday afternoon. All school facilities are secured and student safety was never compromised during or as a result of the threat. On behalf of the Metcalfe County Board of Education, we thank these individuals for their professionalism.
