| HISTORIC DAY SUNDAY FOR GLASGOW SCHOOLS AS THE NEW HIGH SCHOOL IS DEDICATED |

A page was added to the history books of Glasgow Schools yesterday afternoon as the new Glasgow High School building was dedicated with an excellent crowd in the school’s auditorium. The 125,000 square foot facility is state of the art in every way from larger classrooms, new science, technology and learning opportunities to sustainable energy efficiencies. Several dignitaries were in attendance. State Representative Johnny Bell reminded the crowd of the difficulty in getting this project started: No Flash Player detected Senator David Givens said the end result is much bigger than the building itself: No Flash Player detected Board of Education Chairman Elaine Richardson gave an anecdotal history of Glasgow High School with some stories from the memoirs of legendary English Teacher, Miss Mary Davis and other interesting facts from the past. In her dedicatory address Richardson, a career biology teacher at the high school, summed it up in terms she might have used in her classroom. The crowd also heard from , Superintendent Sean Howard, Principal Keith Hale, Assistant principal Mike Harris and a very talented Saxophone Quartet. Following the ceremony, all those in attendance were invited to tour the facility.
