Mrs. Thelma Riddle Murley passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ and savior on the evening of February 27, 2013 at her home in Burkesville, Kentucky. She was born on Friday, June 12, 1916 in Clinton County, Kentucky the daughter of John Porter and Flora Melvina Sells Riddle. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Education along with her Rank 1 and 30 hours beyond that. She taught school at Burkesville Elementary and was also a guidance counselor there. She moved to the Cumberland County High School where she served as the high school guidance counselor and eventually retired after many years.

She loved her home, family, cooking, reading, a blue sky, watching the leaves blow in a tree, all her students and life. Living was the most important thing to her because she knew it was a gift from God. She always had a smile for everyone she met and will always be remembered for that smile, her kindness and her caring loving heart and soul. May the goodness that lived in her heart live in our thoughts and in all our hearts who knew her. In this way, she will truly live on and never be forgotten.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George Edwin Murley, her sister Velma Riddle Perdue, her infant brother Elmer Riddle. She is survived by her loving daughter, Jennifer Lynn and son-in-law, Dr. Robert Thompson of Lexington, Kentucky.

She is also survived by her sister, Nina Mae Jarvis and brother-in-law, Wendell Jarvis of Burkesville, Kentucky, her niece Kay Jarvis Johar (Dr Ravi Johar) and Two great-nieces Megan and Katelyn Johar and one great nephew, Alex Johar all of St Louis, Missouri.
