The Glasgow Board of Education took some steps last night to prepare for any reduction in funding that may be coming the district’s way.  Not all of the facts are yet known as far as funding cuts to come, but Finance Officer Sue Furlong told the board last night that

2 big cuts they do know about are the “Seek” funding from the State and the cut in federal funding due to “Sequestration:

Superintendent Sean Howard outlined another move the prepare for funding cuts by changing the number of personal days district employees can take

Also the board set a fixed amount for homebound instructors of $30.00 per hour, where as now it varies with experience and qualifications.

 

The board approved a revised lease agreement with the City of Glasgow regarding sports facilities usage.

 

The board went into closed session at the end of the meeting to discuss the sale of real property. When closed session was finished, the board approved a motion to offer the Central Office Real Estate up for sale, while reserving the right to reject any and all bids.
