R. L. “Shorty” Carver 83 of Fountain Run, KY died Sunday, March 24, 2013 at his home.  He was born in Barren County the son of the late Will and Delia Wheat Carver.  Shorty was a retired limehauler and a farmer.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Alean Goode Carver; a daughter Vickie Mutter of Glasgow; 4 grandchildren Daryl Mutter of Fountain Run, Jason Mutter (Laura), Jamie Fancher (Steven Miller) and Joanie Lindsey (Jason) all of Scottsville; 7 great-grandchildren Tanner, Ty and Kali Mutter, Dakota and Brittany Fancher, Kaitlyn Wilson and Kaci Cline; 2 step-great-grandchildren Stephanie Maynard (James) and Kyle Tuttle; 4 sisters Margie Neibarger of Illinois, Geraldine Shelton and husband Jack and Norma Bunch and husband Roger both of Glasgow, and Willie Mae Hunt and husband Ray of Louisville; 1  brother-in-law Neal Goode and wife Lareeca of Scottsville and a very special family friend Millie Burgess of Fountain Run.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Tony Carver, 4 sisters Lucille Steenbergen, Louise Williams, Virginia Eaton and Margaret Oliver and a brother Earl Carver.

Funeral services will be 1pm Wednesday, March 27th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Tracy Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 2pm Tuesday.
