SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT RELEASES INFORMATION ON ACCIDENTS FROM LAST WEEK PDF Print

On 3-26-13, the Barren County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single vehicle injury accident on US 31E at Skaggs Creek Bridge.  James G. Haynes, 34, of Glasgow was traveling North when his 2004 Ford F250, hit ice that had formed on the bridge, causing Haynes to loss control of the vehicle. The vehicle spun around several times before coming to a stop with the rear of the vehicle sitting on top of a guardrail. Haynes was transported by Barren Metcalfe EMS to TJ Samson Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Deputy Bobby McCown investigated the accident and was assisted by deputies Kevin Wilson, and Mike Houchens. McCown was also assisted by the Haywood VFD.

On 3-29-13, the Sheriff’s Department responded to a single vehicle injury accident on Edmonton Road. Warren M. Frazier was traveling east when he lost control of his 1999 GMC. The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, down an earth embankment, struck a fence, traveled up a hill, struck a utility pole, traveled downhill, and struck another fence before coming to a stop. Frazier stated that he was unsure what had caused his vehicle to go off the roadway.   He was transported by Barren Metcalfe EMS to TJ Samson Hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. Deputy Aaron Bennett investigated the accident.
