Tuesday night at Gorin Park, the Scottie boys tennis team took on the Cumberland Co.

Panthers in a fun, rain-interrupted, close match.  The Scotties lost the match but

played really well as they continued to show improvement in all areas of the game.

Cody Jones won his match at #1 singles 8-6 and Dalton Bishop won his match at court

6 8-5 to gain the only singles points for the Scotties.  Ashab Ahmed and Adam

Garrett lost 8-2 on courts 2 & 4, Sabid Mir lost on court 3 8-6 and Brian Sadler

lost on court 5 8-1.  In doubles, Jones and Ahmed played their best match of the

season as they won court 1 8-2.  The Scotties lost court 2 (Mir & Garrett) and court

3 (Sadler and Nick Stone) but the matches featured some outstanding rallies and were

very intense.  Coach Downing stated "The rain interrupted the match but didn't

really alter any scores except for Sabid maybe.  Our team and parents pulled

together after the rain came and got the courts ready as Cumberland went to eat.

Then Cumberland Co. boys pitched in to complete the work on the courts.  This is

what is great about high school tennis.  Both teams competed but also cooperated and

it was a really fun evening for all involved.  Thanks go to Coach Nathan Britt and

his team.  There was some great tennis as well as great sportsmanship on display
