Suel Houchens, born in Barren County, Kentucky on June 20, 1929, died April 21, 2013 at Greenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation.  He was the son of the late Buford and Gladys Houchens.  He attended Forest Park Baptist Church, retired from Houchens Industries, was on the board of the Boys & Girls Club, Co-owner of McKinney-Houchens Used Cars, and showed and loved Walking Horses.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Houchens, daughter Debbie Williams, husband Steve, son; Steve Houchens, wife Diane, step son Greg Moore, wife Pam, stepdaughter; Susie Houchens, sisters; Linda Freeman, husband Jimmy, and Ruth Glass, four grandchildren, four step grandchildren, four great grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by three brothers; Ruel Houchens, Glynn Houchens, and James Houchens, and a step daughter; Lynn Daniel.

Visitation is Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel, and on Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral is 11:00 am Thursday, April 25 at the funeral home with burial at Fairview Cemetery #2.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Boys and Girls Club and/or Forest Park Baptist Church Children’s Department.

Arrangements have been entrusted to J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
