The FBI was scrutinized as court resumed Monday afternoon.  Guthrie True, attorney for Sheriff Eaton questioned FBI agent David McClelland who was assisting lead investigator Mike Brown with the interviews of the three defendants.

Defense counsel wanted to know if the interviews were recorded or audio taped.

McClelland stated they were not because they wanted to build a rapport with each defendant and they might not talk if they were being recorded.  True ask them how the interviews were handled. McClelland said he took notes while Agent Brown interviewed them, then Agent Brown would type the report from McClelland notes.

Deputy Bobby McCown seemed to be the focus of the defense attack on Agent Brown.  True told Brown “you had a nine page document on Adam Minor and there was not one word in that report that he told you that Bobby McCown did not play any part in the arrest of Billy Stinnett.  All of these officers at this table told you he wasn’t there and McCown told you her wasn’t there but you took the word of two kids over all these men, all because they knew him as a school resource officer.”

Agent Brown made the statement that he didn’t indict Bobby McCown that the Grand Jury Did.  True told him that he presented the case, it was the same difference.

True summarized, here’s what we have.   The FBI indicts a man that wasn’t there.

The FBI has a private citizen collect evidence for him.  And third,  the FBI doesn’t check for blood at the scene but waits until it has rained.

True will continue his cross-examination of Agent Brown when court resumes at 9 am today in Bowling Green.
