The Glasgow Scottie Mens doubles team of Cody Jones and Ashab Ahmed continued its winning

ways Tuesday night at Bowling Green High School as they won over Cumberland County's

Allen and Smith by a score of 6-3, 6-2.  This puts them into the quarterfinals of

the 4th region tournament where they will play the winner of a second round match

between Russellville and Logan County.  Coach Downing said "It is like a light bulb

went off for them.  They are talking, making smart shots, and having fun.  This is

the first time since I have been coaching tennis that we have gotten this deep into

the draw and I am really proud of Cody and Ashab."

Brian Sadler played his heart out against Allen County's Newton in a match resumed

from rain yesterday.  Sadler was down a set and a game but came back to win the

second set 7-5 and force a third set super tiebreaker.  It was close throughout the

tiebreak but Newton finally prevailed 10-8 to win the match.  Coach Downing

commented "Brian played a gutsy match and almost pulled it out.  He has improved

more than anyone since last year and I am really proud of him."  Jones and Ahmed

play Wednesday in the quarterfinals and if they win there, they will advance to the

semis later in the day.
