Rex Douglas Turner, 85, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Wednesday, May 15th, at Vanderbilt Hospital, in Nashville, TN.

Rex was born in Tompkinsville, KY on April 2, 1928, a son of the late Flossie (Proffitt) and Clyde Turner.On February 21, 1948  he was married  to the late Lena  P.Turner by Tollie Phemister. He was a member of Poplar Log Baptist Church and he was a farmer.

Rex is  survived by three daughters, Connie Carter, Carla Bartley, and Kerrie Strode; four sons Doug Turner; David Turner; Maxie Turner; and Gary  Turner, all of Tompkinsville; three sisters, Christine Birge, of Tompkinsville, KY; Geneva Jennings, of Tompkinsville, KY; Dean Carter, of Nashville, TN. and two brothers, Glendell Turner and Eugene Turner, both of Tompkinsville, KY; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Rex is preceded in death by his wife, Lena Turner; his parents, Clyde and Flossie Turner, two daughters; Marcella Turner and Karen Turner; and two sisters, Mossey Ree Shirley and Bernelle Emberton; and one grandson; Shawn Carter.

Funeral services will be held at Yokley Trible Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 18th,  with Bro. Darrick Proffitt officiating.Visitation is Friday after 4:00 P.M. and Saturday 6:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.Burial will be in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
