The Glasgow Fire department responded at 2:48pm to a fire alarm at the Glasgow High school. Upon arrival the students were exiting the building and the firefighters were advised that the sprinkler system had went off.

Firefighters entered the building and found that one sprinkler head had activated. Firefighters made sure that the fire was out and that all students were evacuated. Firefighters used wedges to stop the flow of water and began the process of shutting down the sprinkler system which was accomplished by school personnel.

Firefighters placed tarps on computer and electrical equpment on the first floor to try and lessen the water damage. Firefighters also assisted school personnel with removing the water from the building.

There is no damage estimate as that will have to come from school personnel. The flash fire occured during a program in the classroom, which inadvently activated the sprinkler head. There were no injuries.
