Area teams are coming home victorious after competing in the KHSAA State Track Meet at the University of Louisville.


In class single A, Glasgow Scotties were able to defend their 4x200 relay title. The Scotties, led by senior Gary Settles, was able to hold off Somerset to win the race and break a Class single A meet record. The Scottie relay team was also able to carry on their winning streak with a victory over a closing Fort Campbell in the 4x100 relay. Notable individual performances for the Scotties came from Zack Wheeler finishing third in the 400 meter dash. As a team, the Scotties finished sixth overall in the men’s meet.


In the girls meet, Glasgow Senior Katlan Bradley was able to finish in the top five in the 100 Hurdles. Bradley also was able to score in the 300 hurdles as well. Bradley joined her fellow lady Scottie teammates for the 4x100 relay and was able to place 8th. Other notable finishes from area schools include Monroe County’s Cassidy Carter finishing 8th in the Girls Pole Vault.


In Class 3A, Barren County was able to move up in rank in the 4x400 meter relay. Senior Mason Dunbar Led the Trojans to their first 4x 400 relay appearance since 2001 when the Trojans were regional runner-up in Region 6. The Trojans were able to place 21st in the meet.
