Stanley Gerald “Stan” Zimmerman  age 91 of  Ft. Myers, FL passed away Wednesday in Ft. Myers. The Amarillo, TX native was born August 10, 1921 to the late Stanley Gerald and Jesse Pearl Harris Zimmerman. He was a retired Field Commander for US Army,  former City Planner for Glasgow, former Manager at Lessenberry Building Center and Land Developer with Highlander Estates.  He fought in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII and was a POW during the entire Korean war.

He was a 50 yr. 32nd degree Mason with the Allen Lodge, member Scottish Rite, secretary for Glasgow Rotary Club where he was a Paul Harris Fellow and had a scholarship in his name. He sang with Cavemen Chorus Barbershop Singers, a member of Gulf Coast Church of Christ and a Kentucky Colonel.

He is survived by two daughters, Susan Reynolds and husband Paul and Sandee Pester both of Fort Myers, FL; daughter in spirit, Eva Wagner of Glasgow  four grandchildren, Deanna M. Jacobs and husband Pete, Dr. Evan McBeath and wife Emily, Steven Pester and Mary McBeath ; one great granddaughter, Ella Kay Mc Beath; sister, Naomi M. Buntin; four nieces and nephews, Rebecca Kincher, Brian Buntin, Gerald Bolmer, Janice Patterson and a great nephew , Brian Kincher.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Bolmer.

Funeral Services for Stanley G. Zimmerman will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Patton Funeral Home Park City Chapel. Burial will be in the Sweeden Church Cemetery with full military honors.

Visitation begins Monday at 1 pm at the Patton Funeral Home in Park City.
