June 1, 1993 – Illinois man is fatally injured when he and three others were caving in Buzzard Roost’s Cave, one half mile west of Cave City.

June 2, 1993 – Sen. Walter Baker presented Vivian Rousseau with a Kentucky Colonel Certificate on behalf of Gov. Brereton Jones. June 1st was proclaimed as Vivian Rousseau Day in Barren County.

June 4, 1993 – The farm of M B and Hilda Furlong is named “Take Pride in America Conservation Farm” by the Barren County Conservation District.

June 6, 1993 – Techno Trim will host an open house June 12 at their new facility at 118 Beaver Trail.

June 8, 1993 – Three Glasgow policemen were promoted – Melvin Moore to Sgt.; Gary Hapney to Captain, and Steve Clark to Lt.

June 10, 1993 – YMCA is now offering free swimming lessons to the 4th graders from Red Cross, Temple Hill, Austin Tracy, Hiseville, Eastern and Park City.

June 11, 1993 – Jimmy Nelson has been named the new principal at Glasgow High School.

June 13, 1993 – Roy Withrow retires as Barren County School Superintendent after 36 years in education.

June 15, 1993 – The Glasgow City Council has become the first governmental agency to approve an interlocal agreement of an enhanced 911 system for Barren and Metcalfe Counties.

June 16, 1993 – Sheila Renee Botts has been awarded a doctor of pharmacy degree from UK College of Pharmacy.

June 17, 1993 – 1993-94 Hiseville PTA officers are President, Judy Davis, 1st VP, Cheryl Slinker, 2nd VP, Terri Thomas, Sec. Jenna Matthews, Treasurer Bobbi Edwards, and Reporters Shelia Fields and Sandra Cook.

June 21, 1993 – The family of the late Lewis and Eunice Stephens held their family reunion Jun e 13 at the R R Donnelley Club Grounds. 42 attended.

June 23, 1993 – Horse Cave Theatre will open its 17th season in the recently completed theatre Center July 2. The 1.3 million renovations and expansion have been completed and are now ready for the 1993 season.

June 24, 1993 – Shana McMurtrey, a Senior at Metcalfe County High School and State Kentucky Junior Historical Society president, presided over the session of the KJHS meeting held at WKU.

Chad Davis recently attended the Dick Pierce Kicking camp at the University of Louisville. He finished 2nd in field goal distance and 3rd in field goal accuracy.

June 27, 1993 – 1953 Temple Hill Graduating Class held their 40th Class reunion.

June 29, 1993 – Glasgow Recreation Department Summer Tennis Division I winners were Megan Fisher and Amy Meek. Division II winners were Emily Taylor and Joshua Lane. Wade Stone was the instructor.

June 30, 1993 – Glasgow High School standout golfer Jean-Marie Lawson has been selected by the KGA-PGA to participate in the first annual Kentucky-Indiana Girls Challenge Cup Matches. Ex. Director of the KGA-PGA is Drew Conliffe.
