GLASGOW SCHOOL BOARD TALKS ABOUT FLAWS IN CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL AND BAND TOWER PROJECT PDF Print

The Glasgow Independent  Board of Education met in their monthly meeting last night at the new location on West Cherry Street. The meeting began with an honoring of the Glasgow Independent Schools Retirees for this year who are;

-from South Green Elementary, Carol Becker – Instructional Assistant

-from Glasgow Middle School, Shelia Dillard – Instructional Assistant

-from Highland Elementary, Gail Bunch – Library Media Specialist

 

Board member Leigh  Lessenberry expressed strong feelings towards a couple of issues in the new Glasgow High School Building,

The board did not come to a decision on how to deal with the issues just yet, but have plans to speak with the architect.

 

The board approved their renewal of agreement with T.J. Samson Hospital for the provision of sports therapy services for the incoming school year.

 

A hot topic on the agenda, as well as earlier agendas, was the Glasgow High School Band Tower. After much discussion and deliberation, the board did not take action on anything regarding the band tower. Amelia Kiser shared her thoughts on the tower:

Wade Stone volunteered to serve as a legislative contact as part of KSBA’s legislative advocacy effort, and then the board went into closed session for discussions relating to the evaluation of the Superintendent, Sean Howard.
