The Barren County Sheriff’s Office has a solution to an often overlooked problem during the summer. Excessive heat exposure is an issue, especially among the poor, the elderly and the very young and can lead to heat disorders like heat cramps and sun stroke.

 

To combat these dangers, the Sheriff’s Office is offering to perform heat “welfare checks” on Glasgow and Barren County residents who may be at risk. Sheriff Chris Eaton explains the scope of the program:
