James G. “Jimmy” Jackson, 77 of Smiths Grove died Monday, August 12, 2013 at his residence. The Warren County native was a contractor for over 40 years, a member of the Smiths Grove Baptist Church and Smith Grove Lions Club for 36 years. He was former Mayor and City Commissioner of Smiths Grove, co-owner operator of Wanda’s Antiques and former building inspector for the city of Bowling Green.

He is survived by one son: Kevin Jackson and wife Debbie; one daughter: Karen “Susie” Young and husband Timmy; four grandchildren: Brandon Young and wife Sarah, Ashton Young and Blake and Adam Jackson; two great-grandchildren: Baleigh and Blayden Young and one sister: Doris Riddle; 1 brother-in-law, 4 sister-in-laws and a special caregiver also survive.

Funeral services for James G. “Jimmy” Jackson will be at 1PM Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3PM to 8PM Wednesday, August 14, 2013 and after 9AM Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the funeral home.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may be made to Smiths Grove Lions Club or Smiths Grove Baptist Church.
